"Being a jerk will get you women" is sadly one of those empirically useless correlative observations. You see a guy being an asshole and women are all over him so you think being an asshole will get you women. Sadly this isn't actually how it works. Instead let's look at causation.

What comes along with being a jerk? Confidence, self-assuredness, doing what you want, when you want, how you want, not taking crap from people (although jerks tend to not take ANYTHING from people, it's the no-crap-taking most people pay attention to). It's THESE things that will get you women, not "being a jerk".

Seriously, how many jerks do you know who actually KEEP their girls for any length of time, don't have horrible reputations amongst the girls they've been with, and are legitimately liked by people all around them? I'll be surprised if anyone can seriously say a number higher than zero.

It's one of the reasons I laugh so hard at the PUA community. Sure they might be experts at "picking up" girls, but how about keeping them? Or having fulfilling relationships with them? Or sharing a life with someone you legitimately want to be with for more than a quick wet of your willie? They all tend to fail in this regard. It's pretty sad, because usually when they get older, they become either the sugar daddy or the creepy old guy, and may marry out of loneliness.

Anyway, like I said, I know your post was tongue in cheek Stein, and this wasn't directed at you; just some thoughts.
