I study occult Javanese tradition and Al-hikmah from many source. I have seen too many negative things about them on this forum mainly from people who not have any knowledge about these traditions, yes the manual have not good english and the empowerment method can be difficult for people not used to them. You will have to do more work than for reiki systems, the energy is not the same even if there is energy transmission. Indonesian systems are based on ancient shamanism ( kejawen/dayak etc) and al-hikmah/occult side of Islam, the transmission is more occult/magic than reiki and not only for healing but many things even amazing for western people.

From my experience and research, I have found that true occult system are mainly based on the transmission called Angkur/Abisheka etc. and oral transmission ( not found in any book )depending on the tradition.
