I'm usually more into the Psi-power and XM CD's sections, but i've started becoming interested in NLP.

I'd like to apply it to my social interactions, have more control over conversations, and my confidence in general. Perhaps more positive "social power" is what i'm getting at.

Could you please recommend me a couple of books/CD's/DVD's to get started with? Something a beginner could start applying.
