I am not thinking "hmmm, that shower was "successful." See? The operation is something that is done to get the end result. That would be the measure of success. Usually that end result is itself a stepping stone to some greater meta-result, so in the context of "success" only the meta end result is of consequence. Or, *I* could be over-thinking it. So far this sequence has worked for me though.
