So what would you suggest to make it better?

I had to use twisted wire (1,5mm diameter) to make the coil thick enough to stay in shape. 3mm copper wire is difficult to bend and easily kinks.

It may be that the angle in my coil is not ideal. However I did not find any information on that. Maybe someone of you people has it.

Anyway. Instead of telling me that it looks miserable better tell me what to change and help me to get this thing to work.
