Hey yellowbear. I tried making some NAPs myself. And, like yours, mine wasn't exactly 8 seconds... But as Merlin stated somewhere, he found out that to be most effective, the NAPs would need to be 8 seconds long and repeat 3 times... Since mine wasn't 8 seconds, I thought of compensating it by sheer repetion. Instead of 3 times, I made a playlist to play 6 times each affirmation. I can't tell yet if it's working, but looks promising and I've been waking up a little tired every day I let it playing though all night.
By the way, I saw some posts before that people were having trouble figuring out a way to listen to the NAPs all night long. Well, I can't recommend using headphones even with an extension cord. Lots of things can go wrong with that and you might injure yourself. One way could be having your laptop placed near the bed, playing the NAPs all night. But those who doesn't have a laptop, a good way is to get one of those stereos that plays mp3, or even an ipod and use a speaker with it.
