Dean Radin

dean radinWhen Dean Radin was four years old he wanted to be "jet propelled," however it would take many years still before he was able to elaborate on that career goal. He began playing violin at five, and he took it as far as becoming a professional classical violinist for five years. Then, at twenty-five he switched to fiddle and 5-string banjo and started playing with bluegrass bands for several years. While being a musician Radin also pursued his scientific interests. He earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and earned both a masters degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He worked at AT&T Bell Labs and GTE Labs, mainly on human factors of advanced telecommunications products and services, and then held appointments at Princeton University, Edinburgh University, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, SRI International, Interval Research Corporation, and Boundary Institute. At these facilities he was engaged in basic research on exceptional human capacities, principally psi phenomena.

In 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2005 Radin was the elected President of the Parapsychological Association, an affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has published numerous scientific papers, as well as articles and books written for a popular audience: The Conscious Universe (1997) and Entangled Minds (2006).
