AcuGraph

What is the AcuGraph?
The Acugraph is a computerized device to analyze & document the energetic status of your acupuncture meridians.

The AcuGraph is a Electrodermal screening device

How can it help?
It is designed to measure the energy level of each acupuncture meridian and compare results in a graph form enabling the acupuncturist to provide the best treatment. It is based on Ryodoraku acupuncture and is recommended for all treatments and takes approximately 2 minutes.. The software tracks and stores all patient exams and provides fast, easy comparisons to track the patient's progress and document the need for care. AcuGraph has timed measurements for perfect consistency each time, and optional statistical-based calculations for more intelligent results. The system is simple enough to be included in any treatment, easy for the patient to understand, yet powerful enough to provide the complete feature set required by the acupuncture professional.

Product Features
· Point location option allows you to take manual readings while scanning for exact point location
· Nine important graph types: Baseline, Yin vs. Yang, Element Pairs, Interactive Five-Elements, Energy Cycle, Horary, Statistical Ratios, and Patient Information
· Full information regarding meridian function, imbalances, symptoms, spinal reflexes, and treatment
· Nine included treatment styles include Ryodoraku, 5 elements, auricular, associated (shu), channel divergence, spinal reflexes, AcuHerb herbal therapy, and user-customizable treatments
· Graph comparison vertically aligns and displays multiple graphs, allowing you to easily track patient progress
· All treatment points are photographically illustrated and described anatomically, with point functions
· Advanced automatic Five Element treatment points show functional illustration for patient education
· Over 900 full-color illustrations of points and charts, professionally photographed and correctly illustrated

Acugraph is surely one of the best EDS devices (based on Ryodoraku principles) that the west has to offer. However it has some major shortcomings that reduce it to just an amateur device, not suited for professionals.
All Ryodoraku devices in the world are based on the Ryodoraku principles founded by Dr Yoshio Natakani in the 1950s. One of the core foundations of the treatment is that an electric current of 200µA is passed through the body. All Ryodoraku diagnosis & treatment articles published in the scientific community since 1950s have only used a 200µA current.
However, the Acugraph employs only 20µA current in its device. This is a great deviation from Ryodoraku principles and so leads to great margin of error to the extent that the graph produced by the Acugraph is not reliable.
All other reputable ryodoraku devices in world use 200µA current. If you want to use Ryodoraku device in your _professional_ practice, then it _has_ to be using 200µA.
Another issue pointed with Acugraph in a patent website is worth reading as well ...
"A prior art acupuncture device by Miridia Technologies known as the AcuGraph.RTM. incorporates a software package that runs on a user's personal computer (PC), and uses electronic hardware powered by and attached to the PC. However, the electronic hardware attached to the AcuGraph.RTM. is incapable of providing accurate Ryodoraku diagnosis voltages because it draws power at approximately five (5) volts from a computer's Universal Serial Bus (USB) port, but incorporates no circuitry to boost the voltage to the twelve (12) volts called for in the Ryodoraku diagnosis. Although the AcuGraph.RTM. uses an algorithm to normalize its readings as if they were taken at the correct voltage, the AcuGraph.RTM. is incapable of administering proper diagnosis voltage to the user, introducing the potential for deviation from the Ryodoraku protocol."
Please do your research properly before spending your valuable money. Your patients won't spare you for any incompetency shown by you or the equipment you use.

I agree, it is definitely a lot more than 2 stars, 4 or 5 would be more accurate.

Your voting method automatically gives only 2 votes for the Acugraph by asking you to click on stars to vote. Need to be more clear. I would have given this 5 stars. It is rather simple to use and very useful in reporting to the patient. Also, patient compliance and results are outstanding. In no way is it only a 2.
